This is a thirty-year-old station that looks brand new. Kentwood Fire Company has an employee mindset that shows through in the administration and the facilities. It all starts with the Chief, Brent Looman, a second-generation firefighter. He has been leading the group for the past 11yrs and cares deeply for his staff and the community. Chief Looman opened the doors and allowed you to see inside the firehouse and the Administration building. What is very cool about this was both aspects of the service are located in one place, divided by only the apparatus bay. Walking into this station does not look like it's 30 years old. The administration side of the building not only holds the Chief and his line officers but also houses the Fire Marshals. It's always great to see the collaboration between staff and the administration. When it is done right you get awesome results like the Kentwood Fire Company Station 51.
