Why is musical improvisation so difficult? Have you thought about this?
In this video, I show you the result of more than a decade thinking about improvisation, about what it REALLY is, and what it is NOT. My conclusions are quite simple, but at the same time profound, and I have to say that they really changed the way I relate to music.
Therefore, I made this video as a guide for anyone to understand what musical improvisation really is, what its nature is. Whether you are a curious non-musician, a complete beginner, apprentice, amateur, dilettante, intermediate, expert or professional. The video is for all of you.
The question about the difficulty of improvisation will be immediately answered as soon as we understand its CONCEPT - what does this concept logically imply? How to interpret our use of the word "improvisation"? What is it, really? How does it work, and what does our society and the niche of professional musicians imagine it should be like?
These and other questions will be explored in the video.
