In May 2022 we took a trip visiting 16 Hebridean islands over 3 weeks. This video is the third in a series that documents this trip, and is a diary of places visited, scenery seen and roads driven on the Isles of Barra and Vatersay, the most southerly of the inhabited Western Isles. We arrived for a 2-night stay following a bumpy 5.5 hour ferry crossing from Oban – which made them feel all the more remote. Thanks go to Rob Daley of Barra Island Tours for a superb, informative 3 hour tour, which set the scene for us. Our memories are those of unfeasibly white sand, turquoise seas and very welcoming and friendly islanders. We left a little of our hearts on Barra and Vatersay.
