I had an absolutely amazing experience learning about The Thelma Hotel in Bluefield West Virginia. This hotel was a safe haven for black travelers to stay at when coming through the area. This hotel had very famous guests including W.E.B. Du Bois, Langston Hughes, Ike and Tina Tuner, and more. Sometimes the past can be a very touchy subject, but I'm a very firm believer in learning from the past so we do not repeat the same mistakes.
