A History of Numismatics from the Ancient World in the Museum's Collection

Dr. Spencer Pope traces critical moments in the history of numismatics through coins from the Ancient World drawn exclusively from the McMaster Museum of Art's Bruce Brace Coin Collection at McMaster University.
This talk was presented September 18, 2013 (during Hamilton Lifelong Learning Week) and complements the exhibition of Antiquities and Numismatics, curated by Dr. Pope and Mr. Owen Phillips (graduate student in the Department of Classics), now on view in the Museum's E. Togo Salmon Gallery.
