GWR King no.6024 seen in the northern fells in 1999. A heavy train and steaming problems forced the train to slow to a stand just after the first shot near Scotsman's Bridge, Greenholme and enabled a quick run to Scout Green to grab a hand held shot there. Further slow progress allowed a third shot just after Shap summit. Great enginemans skills allowed 6024 to recover well from a couple of nasty slips at Scout Green.
The loco redeemed itself on the return south setting one of the fastest times in preservation for the climb to Shap Summit.
