This video film is dedicated to the restoration of the long case clock by Jean-Pierre Latz (1691–1754). Several Laboratories for Scientific Restoration from the Department of Scientific Restoration and Conservation of the State Hermitage took part in this large scale restoration and research project. Mikhail Petrovich Guryev, Head of the Laboratory for the Scientific Restoration of Timepieces and Musical Mechanisms and its senior researcher Valentin Alexeevich Molotkov tell about the work carried out in order to bring back to life the clock in its splendid rocaille case.
