Video Not Working? Fix It Now

Want to learn jazz improvisation? https://www.timcollinsmusic.com COUNTDOWN by John Coltrane is one of the landmarks in the development of modern jazz. It's a chord progression that added new layers of complexity - but also beautiful tension and release - to the repertoire. Coltrane developed the idea, and then applied it to many classic standards, for example: Countdown = Tune Up Satellite = How High The Moon 26-2 = Confirmation Learning this tune will open doors, and as I say in the video - you will exercise muscles you didn't know you had when practicing this tune. But there are so many layers to this thing that it can be hard to figure out where to start. Yes, it's a marathon and not a sprint, but you have to make sure you are at least chipping away in the right direction and not going in circles. That's why I thought it would be helpful to take you on a little journey through my mind, as I try to practice this song and get it up to as high as level as possible. I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to tackled long term projects like this song! As always, thank you for watching. Remember - music is for everyone, even these super difficult songs! -Tim #vibraphone #coltrane #jazzlesson #jazzimprovisation 0:00 Why even try to play this song? 3:19 Decoding the harmonic pattern 4:32 The Whole Tone Train 8:01 Building on the whole tone train 10:04 The next level... 12:24 Steal this idea 14:14 Coltrane's Solo 15:10 Harmonic Rhythm 17:14 Thinking SLOWER 20:32 FASTER!!!! 22:38 Mix Coltrane and improv.. 24:28 Brain Explosion...then what? 25:22 260bpm
