My dear viewers, as every January also this January I've took some time to learn something new about my process. I fulfilled my wish of making a good print out of chimney soot. That's where carbon transfer printing process got the name from. I've also bought bookbinding course, he, he...
OK, about this vlog. It is short. It represents my second attempt to make a print out of chimney soot and I can see some areas of improvement, that's why I have not shared my recipes. I can tell you that in the past I've tried to do that, but I've failed and give up because I didn't found a solution hot to get the air bubbles out and at the same time prevent soot sedimenting. The solution I found is ultrasound cleaner. That brakes all the bubbles in a minute, before soot have time to sediment. Also my material is much harder to work with, in comparison with commercial Kramer Lamp Black product. I have some theories how to improve the solubility of gelatine. Also I can make smaller particles of carbon. I will share all my information when I will feel that I've figured out all the characteristics. Nevertheless I am very very satisfied with my carbon print.
