A revival of historic inn with Japan Deco style - Honkan Kosekiya Ginzan Onsen | Yamagata JAPAN Vlog

I stayed at the Ginzan Onsen Honkan Kosekiya in Yamagata Prefecture. The Honkan Kosekiya reopened after renovation in 2022. Located in a prime spot in Ginzan Onsen, this inn is a historic inn that retains the atmosphere of mixed Western Japanese-style architecture, known as Japan Deco. Ginzan Onsen once flourished with its silver mines and hot springs, and luxurious wooden inns were built one after another along the river. They have been expanded over the years, and the landscape is still maintained under ordinances today, with wooden 3-4-floors inns, rare in Japan. Kosekiya, the newest inn in Ginzan Onsen, has been renovated using old materials and traditional techniques from that time, and was recently registered as a National Tangible Cultural Property. The landscape, which firmly inherits the atmosphere of the time, will continue to be one of the landmarks of Ginzan Onsen. The bathing sensation of the hot spring, which is colorless and transparent but contains many ingredients, is also wonderful, and you can fully enjoy the different atmospheres in the two large baths, the inkstone bath and the Taisho bath. Relax in your room and the hotel, enjoy the hot springs, and when you get tired of them, walk around the garden-like Ginzan Onsen town. This luxurious way of spending time is a privilege only available to those who stay at Ginzan Onsen. Meals at Ginzan Onsen are all-inclusive, called the Onsen Town Inclusive. In addition to dinner at the restaurant Nogawatei, all drinks at Yukemuri Shokudo Shirogane and in the hotel are free. This inn is full of thoughtful considerations that allow you to enjoy not only the hotel but the entire hot spring town. It is very difficult to make reservation to stay in the entire Ginzan Onsen area, but we hope you will enjoy a wonderful time here. ■Hot spring details Sulfur-containing sodium chloride sulfate hot spring pH 7.0 ■Main building Kosekiya https://www.kosekikan.com/ * Some of the information in the video is based on information collected online. * Permission has been granted to film the hot spring. * Normally video/photo shooting inside bath is not allowed. #vlog #onsen #ryokan
