Breathing in the right way is one of the most fundamental steps to improving your posture. People to try to force their muscles into a stretch and end up holding their breath not knowing that this is working against their goal of improving their Scoliosis.
If you hold your breath while stretching you are keeping your muscle tight because you go into a fight or flight response. The breathing technique I share in this video does the opposite because it activates the rest and relaxation part of your nervous system so your muscles begins to relax.
There’s nothing wrong with holding your breath to begin with because it’s a learning process, as long as you learn to relax your breathing. Overtime, the more you practice the easier it becomes, the more your muscles relax and easier your posture becomes to change.
