Unfortunately, the audio is a little loud and that's on me, I thought I had it fine but the game was just a little louder than I thought. Its just a simple playthrough, nothing more.
Game Title: Visk
Description:
Visk is a minimalist walking simulator with a touch of horror. The game offers a barebones experience, featuring simple mechanics that rely on just a few buttons. While the story is hinted at, the demo leaves much to the imagination. The most innovative feature, a kinetic walkie-talkie, serves as a gimmick to keep players moving but fails to build much tension. The sound design stands out as the strongest aspect, creating an atmospheric backdrop. However, as a horror game, it only delivers tension in the final moments, leaving the overall experience feeling underwhelming but intriguing enough to spark curiosity.
Ratings:
Graphics: 5/10 – Nothing groundbreaking, with visuals that are serviceable but unremarkable.
Story: 5/10 – Some potential, but the demo doesn't provide enough substance to fully engage.
Mechanics: 5/10 – Basic mechanics that get the job done but lack depth or innovation.
Sound: 7/10 – The highlight of the demo, with audio that effectively sets the mood.
Overall Impression:
Visk's demo feels like a starting point rather than a fully realized experience. It hints at potential but doesn’t deliver enough to make a lasting impact, aside from its sound design. Fans of atmospheric games might find something to like, but others might struggle to stay engaged.
The overall rating for Visk is 5.5/10.
Even giving it that rating, I am still going to come back to play it because it left me wanting more, I would like to see what happens after the siren.
