Parc Slip Nature Reserve was once an open-cast coal mine but has now been transformed into a nature reserve. I take a relatively short and flat walk around the reserve. ▸The Walk Map: https://bit.ly/3uqPzxJ ▸The Starting Point: Parc Slip Visitor Centre 🧭 51° 32' 44.2”N 3° 36' 51.1”W 🧭 51.545608, -3.614202 ▸What 3 Words: stiffly.outsiders.recent The walk is only 2 miles and is not difficult to follow. You should see some of the wildlife and last year we saw some Adders (Britain’s only venomous snake). As well as the wildlife the walk takes you past the memorial of the 1892 Parc Slip mining disaster. See more https://youtu.be/HRIndxOv2bE 112 miners were killed in an explosion.
