Hey welcome!!! This is a week in my life and I hope that it inspires you to look at homemaking in a joyful light! Being a homemaker is a real joy!! Thanks for watching! Kombucha For a gallon jar cups Starter 2 cups starter 8 cups distilled water or 4 water bottles 4 back tea bags 1 cup organic sugar Scoby * Before you start let the scoby and starter warm up to room temperature. Take out of the fridge 2 hours at least before making the tea. - Heat water to just betore boling. add 4 tea bags and steep for ten minutes. in a clean jar add I cup sugar and then add the tea.Stir with plastic or wooden spoon ( NOT METAL)until sugar has dissolved.add 4 cups water and maybe a bit more to the point it is lukewarm to the touch.Add 2 cups starter. Add scoby and cover with a cloth with an elastic!Do not allow fruit flies to land on the scoby, they ruin the scoby. If you find you are making to much you can place the scoby with 2 cups starter in the fridge in a plastic bag and it will go to sleep.Once you are ready to start again leave it out far 2 hours before making batch.Store in litre jars with plastic Iids. Thumbprint cookies! 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened ¾ c. butter, softened 1 c. sugar 2 1/4 c. flour ½ tsp. baking soda 1 c. finely chopped pecans 1¼ c. raspberry jam 1 tsp. vanilla Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar, and vanilla with a mixer until blended. Add flour, baking soda, and pecans; mix well. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°. Shape dough into 1-2 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Indent centers. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.Fill each cookie with ½ teaspoon jam. Bake for another 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 1 lb. ground beef 1 onion, chopped ½ c. cracker crumbs ⅔ c. milk 1 egg ½ tsp. curry powder Sauce: 2 Tbsp. cornstarch ¾ c. ketchup ¾ c. water 1/3 c. vinegar 1 Tbsp. soy sauce 1 c. tomato sauce ¾ c. brown sugar Mix ground beef, onion, and curry. Add egg. Soak crumbs in the milk; add to mixture. Shape into balls and put in a casserole dish. Bake at 350°F. for 20 minutes. Sauce: Mix all ingredients and pour over meatballs.
