Thank you all for one of the best years of my life! One year in an abandoned mining town. I could have never imagined 12 months ago what the town had in store. Now I sit here a year later and am filled with gratitude. This year has taught me a lot and brought all sorts of amazing people into my life, because of this channel. So thank you! For more photos around the town, check out my Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/brentwunderwood/ Cerro Gordo T-Shirts and more: https://store.cerrogordomines.com/ Once upon a time, Cerro Gordo was the largest producer of silver for the state of California. Miners pulled over $500 million worth of minerals out of this mountain. Close to 4,000 people called it home in the late 1800s. By the 1940s the town was out of minerals, out of water, and mostly abandoned. I moved up here March 2020 to try to bring life back to this forgotten town. It's been a year of ups and downs. A year of learning self-reliance, new skills, and much more. Thank you all for following along and make sure to SUBSCRIBE because I'm headed into Year 2 up here! A lot more adventures in store!
