Initially, it may appear daunting, but navigating the controllers becomes relatively straightforward once you become acquainted.

Have you had the chance to become familiar with the four most prevalent AAON unit controllers?

Let me provide you with a summary:

VCCX2 Controller

The VCCX2 Controller is a configurable unit controller that can be used for Constant Air Volume, Variable Air Volume (VAV), Single Zone VAV, Make-Up Air, and Space Temperature Control of High Percentage Outdoor Air applications. It can be used for air-to-air heat pumps or water-source heat pump units.

RSMD Series

The Refrigeration System Modules were explicitly developed to communicate with the VCCX2 System for efficient control to optimize the system's performance by maintaining operation within the optimum operating envelope of the compressors.

The RSMD (Refrigerant System Module for Digital Compressors) Series of modules was designed for units with Digital Compressors.

MHGRVX Series

The MHGRV-X module series controls a Modulating Hot Gas Reheat Valve to maintain a desired Supply Air Temperature and Dehumidification Setpoint. Depending on the module, these modules can be used as a stand-alone controller or in conjunction with the VCM-X E-BUS, VCB-X, or the VCCX2 Controller. The MHGRV-X Reheat Expansion Module is designed to control one set of reheat valves. Connected with the Reheat Expansion Modules, it provides a system that allows the proper control of multiple sets of valves.

MODGAS-X Series

The MODGAS-X and the MODGAS-XWR2 can modulate up to two gas valves to maintain a desired Discharge Air Temperature. It also controls the speed of the induced draft fan to maintain proper combustion in the heat exchanger. Using a modular cable, these modules can be used stand-alone or in conjunction with the VCM-X E-BUS, VCB-X, or VCCX2 Controller.
