On Sunday January 5th 2025, we visit New Zealand's famous steam train attraction The Kingston Flyer, situated at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu near Queenstown. First established in 1971, the flyer has been recently brought back into operation by its new owners after being on a hiatus for many years. The flyer is home to two Ab class locomotives no.'s 778 & 795, the former currently stored awaiting overhaul and the latter in operational condition as seen in this video. Sit back and enjoy Ab 795 steaming along the 14km isolated section of the former Kingston Branch between Kingston and Fairlight, with a rake of restored vintage passenger carriages, now for all to enjoy once again!
