This video will walk you through some of the basic techniques with acrylic paint. These techniques will work with any type - but for your reference I am using Liquitex Basics on student grade watercolor paper.
Materials:
-Sheet of watercolor paper (9"x12" or 11"x14" is a good size)
-Acrylic paints, choose several colors but any colors can work for this exercise
-Paint brushes in a variety of shapes and sizes
-Acrylic mediums (gloss medium, matte medium, gel medium, etc. *whichever ones you have and want to try. A medium is an additive that can change the consistency of the acrylic paint, make it thinner, thicker, glossy, etc.)
-Sharpie or pencil for labeling
-Modeling paste (also an acrylic medium)
-Stencils
-Painter's tape
-Sponges (you can just cut up an old sponge for this)
-Palette knife
-Cup of water
-Paper towels or rag
