Anyone can intonate their guitar... it's a fairly simple process.
I recommend intonating after a new set of strings has been put on. You just need a few screwdrivers or allen-wrenches and a tuning app (preferably strobe).
A great explanation of why you need to intonate is you want a chord to sound in tune anywhere you play it on the neck... high or low.
And always remember: Flat = forward (FF) and Sharp = Back (SB)
