Join us online on Wednesday, October 30th at noon Pacific for Adventure Journaling with Genine Carvalheira!
Sketching while on a hike is a great way to document an adventure, and having your favorite tools on you makes it all the better.
In this live demo, Genine will share her hiking experience from her 21-day trek on the Nordlandsruta trail in Norway. We will cover tools she used on her trip and explain how sketching can be integrated into a hiking routine. She will talk about how combining sketches with written observations enhances the narrative of her experience and touch on her approach for sketching the subjects she chooses.
Genine Carvalheira is an artist, Interior & Industrial Designer, and avid traveler, originally from the US, with time spent living in Canada and residing in Bogotá, Colombia. As a longtime Urban Sketcher, she has participated in nine symposiums, volunteered in multiple roles, and currently serves as President of the global Urban Sketchers organization.
We hope to see you there!
*Notes*
We didn't get to it in the live demo, but Genine does work backward in her sketchbooks! As she's lefthanded, she prefers to work right to the left, starting at the end of her sketchbooks and working backward, which helps keep a clear chronology.
