Sri Lanka was put to bat first in the second T20I. The quickfire knocks from the openers, followed by a half-century from Sadeera Samarawickrama and the perfect finish to the innings by Angelo Mathews helped Sri Lanka reach 187 runs in the end. Afghanistan once again crumbled against the Sri Lankan bowlers as none of the batters could put up a proper fight. In the end, Afghanistan became all out for just 115 runs in 17 overs and Sri Lanka won the match by 72 runs.
