I overseeded part of my lawn in late August and then seeded a new lawn space in mid-September. Now that all of my young grass has come in it's now time to kill off some of the weeds that have germinated and emerged over the same time frame.
To do that I'm going to apply a product that uses Mesotrione as the active ingredient as it will disrupt the chlorophyll production capabilities of the weeds before they get too well established causing them to die off while not affecting the grass sprouts in any meaningful way.
I used Tenacity in a spray bottle just as I did in my Spring 2021 seeding tutorial video which you can see here: https://youtu.be/Xntpcigopu4
Tenacity is usually more available but barely more expensive than the generic Meso product. You can check pricing and availability in the following affiliate links:

Meso 4SC Select (generic Tenacity): https://shrsl.com/2d39b
Please note, Mesotrione shouldn't be applied to Zoysia, Bermuda, Bentgrass, and a few other less common turf grasses which are all listed on the label.
The product should also only be applied when temps are below 85 degrees outside and soil temps are 55 and above meaning this is only going to be an option in the fall for only a limited amount of time, especially in the northern growing zones.
