I worked hard to become financially independent, determined not to repeat my parents' cycle of financial instability. When they discovered I had savings, they demanded money, guilt-tripping me about family loyalty. When I refused, they escalated—sending me a literal bill for my upbringing, claiming I owed them over $200,000. I exposed their absurdity on social media, which only fueled their anger. My sister joined their campaign, pretending to be supportive before trying to manipulate me into “lending” her money. When I refused, she turned others against me, even contacting old friends and my ex-boyfriend to shame me.
When they saw emotional manipulation wasn’t working, my parents went further. They tried to sabotage my career, calling my workplace, sending false complaints, and accusing me of financial fraud. My boss saw through their lies, but the attack on my livelihood was the last straw. I took legal action, documenting their harassment and warning them that if they continued, I would sue.
