https://bit.ly/PNBSalarySavingsAccount Episode No: 951 This episode begins not in battle, but in silence—inside the royal zenana of Agra in October 1605. Mughal Emperor Akbar, weakened by illness, passed away on 27 October. But the story doesn’t end with his death—it takes an unexpected turn eight decades later when a rebellious Jat warrior named Rajaram desecrates Akbar’s tomb. We explore the powerful resistance led by Rajaram Jat, but before him, there was Gokula, the first to raise arms against Mughal oppression under Aurangzeb’s brutal rule. Gokula’s execution became a rallying cry, and 15 years later, Rajaram emerged as the leader of a fierce, organized, and firearm-equipped Jat army. The episode uncovers the strategic brilliance of Rajaram—building forts called garhis in the jungles, disrupting Mughal supply chains, and even looting Akbar’s tomb at Sikandra. We dive into the shocking moment when Akbar’s remains were pulled from his grave and burned by Rajaram’s forces. As civil war brewed among Rajput factions and Mughal attention was divided, the Jat rebellion escalated. But eventually, in the Battle of Bijal, Rajaram was shot by a Mughal sniper and died on 4 July 1688. The copyright ownership in the video rests with India Today Group.
