(In the 50's Egypt and most of the European countries were having harsh opinions and unfavorable views about a child who was born out of wedlock without a father or to an unmarried woman. In certain areas of Egypt especially in the villages, the father's word was the ultimate one and his decision was the last and must be accepted. Respect of the parents' words and decision were unarguable and obedience was the law of the family).
The movie starts with heavy rains and thunders with two horses and cart carrying a young woman (Ihsan) to her Husband's ( Mahmud) law firm.
Shockingly, Ihsan finds her Husband in his office cheating on her with one of his female clients. Mahmud notices her but she says nothing and she quietly leaves.
After the movie's introduction music concludes, we see a child (Abdel Halim Hafez) whose name in the movie is (Hussein) on the floor playing with his toys. His father (Mahmud comes home and his wife (Ihsan) is delivering a baby. Ihsan delivers a baby boy and they named him (Ahmad).
Mahmud starts to show more love to Ihsan and the two boys grew next to each other with love and harmony until Hussein notices that his father is treating the younger brother better and shows his love to Ahmad was always more. The mother tries faithfully to convince Hussein that his father loves him as much he loves Ahmad.
