The Alain Pérez y la Orquesta is one of Cuba's most important musical exponents. During the 2022 Music Meeting Festival Alain Pérez could be heard with this great band for the first time in the Netherlands. For this unique performance, Pérez has made a selection of virtuoso young Cuban artists, each of whom is about to break through as a soloist.

Fresh music, a new sound, in which tradition is easily intertwined with modern jazz and funk. Alain Pérez shows like no other where Cuban music comes from and where it goes, all wrapped up in an infectious danceable mix. So it's no wonder that he knocks on the door of the international Latin scene with a Grammy in his pocket.
The Cuban bassist and singer Alain Pérez is seen as a musical genius and is an eminence in the salsa, latin-jazz and flamenco scene. That is special, for someone who is not of Spanish but of Cuban descent. That became clear early on, because before he was thirty he became a well-known name through his role as bandleader of the legendary singer Celia Cruz. He cemented his reputation by playing for six years as the permanent bassist of flamenco great Paco de Lucia.
