Alam Khan is a musician, composer and teacher based in San Francisco Bay area. He learn to play the sarode from his father Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, who founded his music school in SF Bay area in 1967.

We talk to Alam Khan about his father, the contribution of Maihar gharana, and his interest in hip-hop music and the new album GRAND TAPESTRY that has Elijh on vocals, Saler Nader on tabla and Alam Khan on sarode.
