We’re going on a journey to somewhere that we didn’t even know about until 5 days earlier. After learning of it and doing some research, we were hooked.
In the far reaches of Northern Albania, cradled by mountains as old as time, lies a place that feels forgotten…. hidden and waiting. This is Theth. A mountain village comprised of stone houses and down to earth people. Here, life unfolds a little slower.
For centuries, Theth has guarded its secrets. The stories whispered from generation to generation. It’s a place that holds onto its past but invites those brave enough to journey through its wilderness.
This isn’t just a journey to the mountains. This is a journey for self growth and deeper understanding of what we’re made of. Because we plan to summit The Valbonë Pass. A trail that is not for the faint hearted. It rises, steep and relentless, driving you upward into the clouds.
A path once tread by only shepherds and smugglers is now reclaimed, by adventurers dreamers.
But there’s more than just that. Beyond the peaks, buried deep in the forest, lies the Blue Eye. A waterhole so clear, so impossibly turquoise, you’ll be left wondering if it was all but a dream.
Every corner of Theth reveals something different, waterfalls tucked away like secrets and mountain trails that weave through the aromatic pine forests. It’s a place where nature writes its own story and we’ve been invited to become part of it.

We are Benny and Meeka, a travel couple from Australia who have been travelling on and off for 10 years and even lived in the UK from 2019 - 2021.
We are currently in Europe and are making our way back to the UK to reunite with our Mercedes Sprinter van we purchased before the world shut down and we left back to Aus.
