A visit to Pampanga won’t be complete without trying out the Kapampangan sisig and so for today, we headed out to the famous Aling Lucing sisig, the original branch in crossing, Angeles City, Pampanga.

The first thing we noticed was how packed it was. It took a while to find seats as everybody was so busy.

Aling Lucing is known as the sisig queen. Famous people have sampled her sisig- including the late Anthony Bordain.

Many years after its opening, Aling Lucing restaurant retains its humble character but now serves more Filipino specialties- grilled fish, leche flan, sizzling pusit(squid), all sorts of barbequed meat, paco salad, chicharon bulaklak and many other things.

Though the restaurant is fairly simple, the ambiance was happy and the walls were adorned with photos from people who have tasted this Kapampangan heritage.

After a while, our orders of fish, salad, and barbeque were served, and shortly after, the sisig came and it is just how we envisioned it to be delicious chopped, charred pig parts and chicken liver served on a sizzling plate. It is a must that you drizzle calamansi whilst its sizzling for that extra yummy acidity.


Though we came for the sisig, I must say that everything was just so fresh, delicious, and authentic. Tilapia with buro, enchilada, and eggplant was divine. The pusit or squid was so flavourful and tender. If you are in Pampanga and craving for some sisig and local specialties, Aling Lucing is definitely a must-try.
