সুইডেন স্ক্যান্ডিনেভীয় দেশগুলোর মধ্যে বৃহত্তম রাষ্ট্র। একইসাথে এটি ইউরোপীয় ইউনিয়নের তৃতীয় সর্ববৃহৎ দেশ। তবে আয়তনে বড় হলেও সুইডেন ইউরোপের অন্যতম কম ঘনবসতিপূর্ণ অঞ্চল। প্রতি বর্গকিলোমিটারে মাত্র ২২ জন মানুষ বসবাস করে। এই দেশটি একই সাথে ব্যাপকভাবে পরিচিত তাদের নবায়ন যোগ্য শক্তি ব্যবহারের দক্ষতার জন্য। তাদের মাথাপিছু আয় ও জীবনযাত্রার মান উঁচু। প্রাকৃতিক রুপেও পরিপূর্ণ এই দেশটি। প্রতিবছর লাখ লাখ পর্যটক দেশটি ভ্রমণে আসেন।
