The Gold Standard is unlocked by getting a gold trophy for every cup in mirror mode. The Gold Tires are unlocked by beating all the 150cc time trial staff ghosts. The Gold Glider is unlocked by earning 5000 coins. Everything else is unlocked randomly with coins at certain intervals.
