First up is a mod called broken items fixed. This mod aims to fix items that aren’t working as intended. If you’ve seen some of my videos, you know there are a TON of hidden interaction with items - frankly there are dozens and dozens of items in baldur’s gate 3 that simply DO NOT function the way you’d think, or don’t function the way the item is described, and maybe even in some cases they do the opposite of what it says! This mod aims to fix these items to let us enjoy them the way the developers intended, and as a consequence, it makes the items more usable for certain builds. One of my favorite items, the Boots of Speed, lets you gain movement speed at the cost of a bonus action, and opportunity attacks are made with disadvantage against you. I love these for a light cleric. However, the boots actually give YOU disadvantage on your opportunity attacks! This mod fixes that, making them actually do what they’re supposed to!
Another item that is fixed in this mod is the Bonespike Helmet. This helmet has a passive feature called Fury in the Marrow which causes your rage to deal 2d4 psychic damage to hostile creatures in a 10 ft radius unless they pass a wisdom saving throw. Targets take half damage on a save. However, due to a bug, targets take no damage on a successful wisdom save. This mod fixes that bringing the damage back to half on a successful wisdom saving throw. Which is awesome, since this is a helmet I've never really used but might try just for fun on a barbarian.
Another item that is fixed with this mod is the Enraging Heart Garb. The Ruintamer Heart feature causes the wearer to generate 2 turns of wrath while raging. Due to a bug, this does nothing, which is a real shame. This mod makes this passive function as intended, causing two turns of wrath upon use of rage, and at the start of each turn while raging. This is an awesome fix that I can’t wait to try out.
And another passive feature that this mod fixes is Shadow Blade. You might not recall what item this is on but it’s actually on a shortsword that is included on many of the best builds in the game - the Knife of the Undermountain King! This passive feature grants advantage on attack rolls against lightly or heavily obscured targets when using this blade. Without the mod this passive actually does nothing, but this mod fixes it to work properly which is an amazing improvement since this is already such a used item.
Another item that is fixed with this mod is the Gloves of Battlemage’s Power. Without this mod this item is broken and does not provide Arcane Acuity - which means these gloves would only grant +1 to strength saving throws. This mod fixes them and allows them to create arcane acuity when inflicting a condition with a weapon attack. This means we now have another source for generating Arcane Acuity! I have a feeling now that with these gloves fixed they can definitely fit into some builds nicely.
Another item that is fixed with this mod is the Pyroquickness Hat. The hat’s fiery return passive feature reads, “When you deal fire damage with a non-cantrip spell, you burn yourself and gain an additional bonus action this round. The bug is that, if you use a bonus action to deal that fire damage, such as using Quickened Spell, then you’ll lose the bonus action you were supposed to get from this hat. So with this mod, you’ll actually get the bonus action you’re supposed to in cases where you use a bonus action to trigger it.
And another item that is fixed with this mod is the Marksmanship Hat. In the base game the +1 bonus applies only to main hand ranged attacks, so offhand hand crossbows do not benefit. With this mod the bonus is supposed to now apply to all ranged attacks as the item’s description suggests it should.
