I spent March 15-17 in Armenia, where many things are wonderful, but not public transport. In the capital Yerevan, there have been no trams since 2004 and no one is planning to restore them, there are very few trolleybuses or even large buses, and the main form of transport is the small Chinese ZhongTong and Higer buses.
The subway has long since stopped developing (it is not being built), modernized trains from the USSR are running.
The railway is half-dead: there are few commuter trains, only one long-distance train for the whole country, and freight trains do not even run every day.
But, despite all these shortcomings, the system is very interesting due to the types of rolling stock! Worthy of attention are the Chinese Yutong trolleybuses, German MAN buses, local conversions of the 81-717 metro trains and the round-nosed and flat-nosed ER2 trains from the USSR, which still carry passengers in Armenia!
And there are also many Soviet cars on the roads of Armenia, beautiful nature, interesting architecture, hospitality, rich history and culture - all this is at its best.
