If someone ever told you that in order to take part in and enjoy this sport, you need a ton of gear and a massive car to transport it.... you have been totally misled! Windsurfing at it best is done with the right skills in order to maximise the performance and wind range you get out of the gear that you do have. In this video I am explaining how having limited sail sizes teaches you to become a better-skilled windsurfer by learning how fine-tuning and sailing technique can open up a whole new world of possibilities on the gear you have.
In this video I am explaining all you need to know about the twist profile of your sail, whether it be a race sail, wave sail or free ride sail. I am also expanding on how to choose between the two clew hole settings to optimise sail twist for top performance. In this video you will learn how to rig your sail with regards to the harness lines, downhaul and outhaul to ensure you have the perfect profile and twist to handle a much wider range of conditions with the same setup. Sail twist, if utilised correctly, can have a massive impact on the performance of the sail, control in heavy conditions and power in light-wind conditions.
