Video Not Working? Fix It Now

This video is inspired by the way travel videography is often shaped by a Western gaze—where travellers from the West journey to the East, capturing new perspectives. I was watching a cinematic video on Nepal, filled with intimate close-ups of locals, and it made me wonder—why do I rarely see that same storytelling approach applied to Western cultures? I remember a conversation with full-time travellers I met on group trips. They spoke about how young adventurers should explore “exotic” places like Southeast Asia or the Far East while they still could—because Europe would always be there. But for someone like me, who grew up in Southeast Asia, Europe is the adventure. It’s unfamiliar, exciting, and full of wonder in a way that feels just as exotic as the East does to them. So this is my perspective—a solo Asian girl, exploring the cold.
