Our bike tour in Altmühltal leads from Rothenburg ob der Tauber to Kehlheim through a charming landscape in the middle of Bavaria.
The bike path through the Altmühltal is one of the oldest in Germany and was gradually expanded. Therefore, the signage is not always consistent and changes from Altmühlweg to the new name Altmühltal cycle path.

The first highlight awaits right at the beginning of the tour: the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauer, a destination for many international visitors.

Continue to Colmberg. On the way there we cross the Frankenhöhe with the European watershed.
At Hornauer Weiher is the headwaters of the Altmühl. From here, the Altmühl meanders 227 km to the mouth of the Danube at Kehlheim.
