In Autumn 2024 I climbed Ama Dablam, a 6814-meter peak in the Mahalangur Himal of the Khumbu region in the Himalayas (Everest region). This characteristic mountain had long been the summit of my dreams, and I’m thrilled to have made that dream a reality.
This documentary showcases my ascent of Ama Dablam. The journey began in Kathmandu, where we spent a few days making final preparations and waiting for a flight into the Himalayas. To stay on schedule, we opted for a helicopter flight directly to Namche Bazar due to weather conditions. From there, we started trekking, passing through Tengboche and Pangboche on our way to Base Camp, always with the stunning Ama Dablam and the Everest massif in view.
From Base Camp, we conducted an acclimatization round after a Puja ceremony, reaching as high as Camp 2. Following two rest days, we began our summit push, spending one night each at Camp 1, Camp 2, and Camp 3 before reaching the summit at sunrise. The view from the top was breathtaking. Rising above the sea of clouds, we could see majestic peaks such as Pumori and the 8000-meter giants Cho Oyu, Shishapangma, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Everest.
