Jim Trowbridge's first built the Colorado and Western in HOn3 in his basement in the Denver area back in the 80's. Over a decade later he tore that down and rebuilt it in On3.

The railroad was on the layout tour of the 2017 narrow gauge convention in Denver Colorado.The 37th National Narrow Gauge Convention took place August 30th through September 2nd 2017 in Denver, Colorado – Always a fan favorite narrow gauge convention location. The convention was held in The Marriott Denver Tech Center. This was one of the spectacular layouts on the layout tour.
