Enjoy walking through the Takachiho area! Takachiho gorge is know for ”TenchiKorin" 天地降臨, the grandson of the Sun Diety (Amaterasu Omikami), Ninigi-no-Mikoto Landed to the earth from the heaven.
Amano Iwato Shrine enshrine the cave where Amaterasu Omikami was hid. There is a free guide by the Shinto priest.

天地降臨で有名な高千穂峡と、天照大神が隠れていた天岩戸の洞窟を祀ってある天岩戸神社 西本宮と その先の天安河原へ行ってきました！天岩戸の洞窟は、神職のかたのご案内（無料）の下、拝見する事ができます。天安河原もとても神秘的で美しいです！
