This is the type of flying I love doing the most, and it has become a bit of tradition to do a UK flight at least once a year. We flew from Teuge (EHTE) to Oxford (EGTK), while Teuge still accepts flights to and from outside of the Schengen Treaty Area. I was very busy on the radio, as we were passing through some of the bussiest airspace in Europe, Amsterdam and London. We had some weather to contend with the first part of the flight, the stiff headwind made for a long flight too.
For the crossing of the North Sea, I opted for the longer route over water, but we flew high, hence the O2, took a dinghy along and wore lifevests. I've used gendec.eu to file my GAR and General Declaration.
After visiting Cambridge last year, we wanted to visit Oxford. What a wonderful destination it is! The UK is a nice destination for GA as the other options for travelling are way more time consuming and difficult. I rent the the wonderful PH-VTB, a well kept C172 G1000 as a member of Vliegclub Teuge (http://www.vliegclubteuge.nl/) and I enjoy flying a mix of VFR and IFR flights to a variety of destinations within an hour or three flying from my homebase Teuge (EHTE). For filming I use GoPro 4's (1080, 60 fps wide lens setting), a DJI Spark drone and an iPhone X. I edit with Adobe Premiere Pro and use epidemicsound.com for the music.
