James has been teasing Duck for being named after an animal. He thinks it makes the Sodor engines sound undignified, especially after Duck makes headlines in the news. But when a mysterious visitor passes through Sodor, will James learn that even really useful engines can have really unusual names? Find out in Episode #4 of Thomas & Friends: Back on Track!

It’s finally, FINALLY, F I N A L L Y here! The elusive Episode #4 of my series!
When I originally wrote the first draft of this episode, way back in 2019, I never expected it to take so long. I thought it would just be a simple episode I could pump out and move on from. But the longer I worked on it, the more room I saw for improvement, and I’m very glad I took the time to keep it in the works. I knew I had to make this one worth the wait, so I doubled my efforts while filming the second half - better lighting, better colour correction, more detailed sets, steam effects, more interesting shots, and so on. In my opinion, this episode features some of my best sets, shots, lighting, and character dialogue yet.
I want to give everyone a MASSIVE thank you for being so patient with this episode. I didn’t have a single person pester me about when this episode would be finished, even when I took time away from it to work on other episodes, parody music videos, and so on. And thank you all very much for 6,000 subscribers!!
A Behind-The-Scenes and Director’s Commentary for this episode are already in progress and almost finished, in which I will go into further detail why this episode took so long and all the new things I learned while making it.
I’m also VERY happy to say that Episode #5, “Diesel To The Rescue,” will NOT take 5 years to finish. I only wrote the story last Summer, and 70% is already filmed and edited, including the most complicated sequences, which is the fastest I’ve ever worked on an episode.
And last but not least, a special thanks to YOU for watching! Until next time!
