Antique Rare Ornate Adze - Restoration In this video I am restoring an Antique Rare Adze. I was very impressed by its design. The design of this Adze is very different. Surely you have not seen such a design before. I got this Adze a long time ago. Now I thought it was time to restore it. I started this project by removing the mud from the Adze. After quickly removing the hardened dirt, I applied a 12 volt current to remove all the rust. After cleaning, the adze was found to have very deep hammer marks. Removed minor hammer marks on Adze with a file. Some of the hammer marks were too deep so they were filled with the help of weld. Sanded with a 120 grit grinder to clean up the file marks on the Adze. After that I have started hand sanding in which I sanded with 220 grit, 320 grit, 400 grit and 100 grit. Then buffed the Adze. I used acacia wood to make the handle of the adze. This wood is very hard and strong. I have designed something on the handle. And then I started hand sanding the wood. 120 grit 220 grit 320 grit 400 grit hand sanding. Used Lacquer to polish the handle. I really enjoyed working on this project though.
