"I'm spleeping over tonight - Paraguay" / This time, Antoine heads for Paraguay, a discreet country located in the center of South America, far from the oceans and off the main trade routes. Few foreigners come here.
He begins his journey in the capital, Assomption. After being warned at the entrance to a favela, Antoine meets Diégo installing the fiber, perched on a ladder. Within seconds, the latter agrees to welcome him into his home. The Globe-squatter can't believe it.
Antoine then heads off to Filadelfia in the northwest. He discovers an astonishing town with unpaved streets. Before the arrival of the Mennonites, an Anabaptist religious movement, this land was very inhospitable. By dint of hard work, they made it one of the most productive regions in the country.
He then heads for Encarnacion, a tourist town on the banks of the Rio Paraná. But in June, it's winter in the southern hemisphere and the place is deserted. Fortunately, he stumbles across a fair and meets Armando and Mariana.
And it's in a native community that he ends his journey, sleeping on the cement of the refectory.
As he does at the end of every JDCV Special, Antoine gives us a behind-the-scenes account of his trip. On the program: Japanese farmers in Paraguay, a stopover in a hamlet where Antoine won't be able to pass incognito, and an adorable little couple, Lucio & Marlene, engaged since their teens.
