Are All Of These Colored Pencils The Same Pencil?
After I completed my review of the Kalour Artist Quality Colored Pencils, a lot of you guys wondered if the pencils in this list were in fact the same pencil. Although I can never be 100% sure, unless I asked the manufacturers, whether or not these colored pencils are the exact same ingredient in the core. Even if I went to the source of the pencil making factories and manufacturers for these pencils and asked them if they were all made from the same ingredients in the same formula, I am not sure they would even be allowed to answer me.
Here we take a look at the Arrtx, Castle Arts, Kalour, Brutfunter, Seeing Essence and Nyoni Colored Pencils. It was almost three quarter of the way through this comparison, that I realised I should have included the Marco Tribute and Phoenix Color, however perhaps 8 tests all at once may have been overload. I will try to complete another one, with the same premise only include the Nyoni, Seeing Essence, Marco Tribute and Phoenix Color
Also after conducting this test, I think it would be beneficial for me to purchase a few more Kalour sets and Brutfuner sets and actually determine if all sets from each brand are in fact the same pencil.
The tests and experiments I completed in this video are the best I could use to help me determine similarities in each pencil. I didn't complete artwork so to speak, that would have taken forever to complete 6 identical pieces of art. So I completed a different form of comparison, perhaps more similar.
I will have the written part of this up and live over on The Art Gear Guide tomorrow at the latest, after a a few really bad days of pain I just haven't been able to dedicate the time required to getting all aspects of the review uploaded. However I wanted to get this part of the review out at least
If you have any questions you like to ask about this comparison please by all means leave your questions in the comment section or if you would rather ask them in private my email is [email protected]

As always guys, thank you so much for your support I can’t tell you how much it means to me. You can of course support the channel by simply watching my videos to the end, reading the viewing the content on The Art Gear Guide and leaving comments along with likes, all for free, you have nothing at all to give and in return I am constantly giving away amazing art sets, free giveaways open to everyone no matter where you live in the world, I pay for postage.
If you would like to support the channel financially, of which all money goes back into buying art supplies to review and improving the production value etc, you can subscribe to my Patreon Channel. For as little as $2 a month you get access to many tutorials, colored pencils, marker, watercolor, pastel, mixed media etc. You can of course subscribe more than $2 a month, as much as $15 per month, but that is up to each individual and I set it at $2 because I wouldn’t everyone to gain access. Ive not added a tutorial in the past few months but I am working on a fantastic Absolute Beginners Guide to colored pencil artists and this has been so widely requested.
Finally, if you would like to follow my day to day personal life and get to know me and my family a bit better, you can click the links below and follow me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, I also have a Threads and TikTok which if you are on those platforms I’d love to see you over there. I am always adding work in progress images of the art projects I’m working on, photos and video clips of my Siberian Husky Koda and occasionally my family.
