In cross-country riding it’s pretty much a given to see beginners, amateurs, and advanced people using clipless pedals. The ergonomics and power gained with clipless pedals is prioritized. The advantages of flats with the flexibility for freedom seem to matter less. But are clips really faster, and if so by how much?
