Do extroverted people have an advantage over introverted people when learning foreign languages? I've been talking a lot recently about how I go about developing a basic level of fluency without relying too much on talking to other people. It's been fascinating to see how deeply this has resonated with so many people, many of whom are introverts and aren't so comfortable talking to other people early in the language acquisition process.
Over the last couple of weeks, I've received a lot of messages from people who previously felt like perhaps they were disadvantaged since so many people online talk about how it's so important to go out and talk to people early in the process and often. Some people even said that extroverts are simply better language learners.
So I wanted to address this with my thoughts and I would love to continue doing my tiny part to help more and more introverted people feel empowered to learn languages just as well as anyone else 🌻
