Are you an INTJ or ISTP....

INTJ vs ISTP personality differences - the INTJ and ISTP have quite different cognitive function makeups, but there are some factors that cause them to look the same. 1. the ISTP leads with a judging function, so they may appear like a J; likewise the INTJ leads with a perceiving function, so they may appear like a P. 2. The ISTP's 3rd function is iNtuition, and people tend to be overreliant on their third function, so ISTPs may seem like an N. I recommend you watch this video with some friends who know you well and can view you from an outside perspective. However, describing behavior necessarily loses universal application. When I give an example like this, it is not an absolute, rule, exclusive to that type, or even present in a majority of that type. It is one-time example of how the motivations that ISTJs share could manifest - not how they must manifest. Different motivations aside from Si-Te motivations could prompt someone to get a fitbit, so I wouldn't use that example to type or un-type someone. Poor inductive reasoning would say say "I noticed 3 ISTJs wearing fitbits, and therefore all ISTJs have fitbits" or "therefore anyone with a fitbit is an ISTJ." In my more recent videos I've been providing a deductive basis for behavioral examples from definitions in Carl Jung's and Van Der Hoop's writing like "Si is attuned to sense organs"; "Te is focused on outcomes and metrics" "therefore an example could be, but is not limited to or required to be, ISTJs wearing fitbits, especially when used to measure sense organs." These behavioral examples are still useful provided you engage with them in a way to peer behind what would have motivated that behavior and then ask if that motivation applies to yourself.
