In May 1969, the US Army 101st Airborne Division launched Operation Apache Snow to secure Hill 937 in A Sau Valley and to prevent PAVN escaping route to Laos. The Division faced heavy resistance from the PAVN/Vietcong forces; every inch to the top of the hill became a fight to survive.
