Armored Core, as a series, has always attempted to reinvent itself, but this usually was brought about in smaller, specific ways that left the gameplay core intact. The 4th Generation of Armored Core is the first foundation change in the series, changing the very idea of how you control your AC and being the 2nd story reboot. Armored Core 4 and for Answer might be a little decisive amongst old fans, but both speak to their own strengths, and to my personal taste, to an absurd degree. For Answer specifically is a fan favorite for a reason, and I hope I do the game even a little justice, as I think it's From Software's magnum opus.
