How I use art & journaling to heal unresolved emotional wounds. Something happened recently to trigger my sadness, grief & rejection from the past. I felt like nothing had changed. I always turn to my creativity and especially my art journals to write it out, process it with art and try to release at least another layer of it. This week I'm sharing how I've been feeling about being triggered even though things happened a long time ago. It still had an effect on my mental health 'now'. These unprocessed emotions are deeply rooted and still become present again can't they? Something happened a few months ago and I felt so rejected, unaccepted, and it brought everything flooding back. Old wounds, past hurts... Feelings that are buried but are still there and need to be hugged every now and then. Classically, culturally, certain people in your life are not meant to reject you but in reality it probably happens a lot. ? I don't know for sure but what I do know is that I needed to process some very raw, deep emotions and this is how I did it. For as we all know, we can't control or change others, we can only address ourselves... For me, creative tasks, art and journaling are one of the most essential tools in my self care toolbox, especially for processing emotional pain. And, if you saw my video a few weeks ago you will have seen I had to do nothing at all at first until I was ready to begin to process things. Soft hugs to anyone who needs some. Xxxs (& I cut my own hair! although, spoiler alert, I didn't cut it all off!)
Feel free to tag me (with your creations) on social media & let's chat in the comments too if anything resonates. Thank you so much for watching & keeping me company in this little corner of YouTube! Biggest Loves, Wendy. Xxs
